How to check your Ticker device is connected

When you set up your Ticker device the first time, we walk you through every step. It's very quick and straightforward.

Once you've finished the process, you don't need to worry about anything unless we get in touch to tell you there's something else you need to do.

If you have the stick-on Ticker device

If you have a stick-on Ticker device, you may notice the device flashing when you get in the car - this is normal.

If you don't see any lights on the device or you think your device is not working, check:

  • Everyone on the policy has logged into the app with their own email address and paired their phone with your Ticker device

  • Your phone is in the car when you drive

  • Your phone permissions are all set correctly

A banner at the bottom of the dashboard of your app will also show 'Receiving data' while the device is connected.

If you have the plug-in Ticker device

If you have a plug-in Ticker device, your app will show as 'Receiving data' once it’s been plugged into the Onboard Diagnostics (OBD) port – it may take a little time for it to connect to our network, so don’t worry if it doesn’t happen straight away.

As long as these things are OK, you don’t need to worry. If we think there’s a problem, we’ll get in touch to help.
