The Traffic Rules feature allows you to set restrictions, advanced configurations and alerts for traffic.
With this feature you will be able to control your traffic on a deeper level for example accept only specific traffic based on free parameter or block it, setup night shifts, caps with specific parameter values on your leads and more.
You can find the Traffic Rules in the Advanced section of the menu or in the search engine.
Here you will be presented with your existing rules.
You can filter by affiliates, campaigns, countries, conditions and more to find the relevant rule that you are looking for.
Creating a New Traffic Rule
Once you reached the Traffic Rules screen, click on Create Traffic Rule and a drop-down menu will appear with all the possible types of rules you can create:
Allow / Block Lead Details
Allow / Block Lead Details
Block / allow leads only if they come with specific parameter value.
IMPORTANT- can also be used on lead email / phone / ip.
For example:
For brand Mock1 , If the parameter MPC_2 includes facebook, Then allow the lead to enter (otherwise block the lead from entering this brand).
Add Working Days & Hours
Add Working Days & Hours
This option allows you to limit entities by working hours or add night shifts, and you can also add specific conditions for this like lead details rule, or set caps as well.
If the lead will try to register and one of the conditions is not met - the lead will be blocked from registration.
For example:
For affiliate "Buyer1" if Working hours are : 20:00 - 03:00 (+1)
you can add in this rule the hours from 23:59 up to 03:00 (as long as you opened all hours in box).
Add Limit (Caps)
Add Limit (Caps)
In here you can add caps as an alternative options from the "Boxes".
If Leads amount is less than 20 then Allow Traffic (otherwise block).
In case this lead will try to register and the daily cap has exceeded the amount you have set which is 20, the lead will be blocked.
You can cap by Leads or even failures / depositors and more.
Additionally you can change the cap type, the available types are as shown below.
Allow / Block Entity
Allow / Block Entity
This rule type allows you to block very specific leads based on entities.
First you filter, and then you choose whether to allow or block based on a specific entity.
In this example i look for Tom's leads and put a system-wide block for him so he could not send leads from Austria.
Editing Your Rules
In the main screen you can view all your rules, their conditions, cap progress, when the rule was created / updated and more.
You can make changes in an existing rule just by clicking on a rule, making the necessary changes and clicking "Save".
Troubleshooting
In some cases you may see that a traffic rule is not working properly.
First of all, check the conditions you have set for this rule and make sure they are set accordingly for being able to work for the relevant lead.
For example, you have set this rule to work for affiliate X but you're getting leads from affiliate Y.
In other cases you will see in "Leads" in brand response this kind of response:
"Blocked by condition: RuleID: X, freeParams. check your restrictions rules. Box (GI), Campaign id (CI), ai: X country: X"
In RuleID you would see the relevant rule ID that will help you indicate and locate the problem.
You will encounter such a response for a lead that has tried to register to a campaign and couldn't due to the traffic rule that met the conditions, meaning that this lead was blocked from registration by a rule you have set.
In order to make this lead register you need to check the conditions of the relevant rule you set and make the necessary changes in order to let this lead register.
