TTRS Playlist

Using the TTRS Rock Anthem Playlist and timer.

Updated this week

The timer and playlist page on Times Tables Rock Stars is designed to help you run focused, engaging times tables practice in your classroom with minimal setup.

Important: Struggling to change tracks?

In March 2026, YouTube made some changes to embedded playlists. Unfortunately, this has removed the ability to view the full playlist in the video player and select the song you want to start with.

Not to worry! You can still navigate between tracks by using the previous and next buttons, which appear on the video player on each side of the pause icon.

We're also working on mixing up the playlist! So you should start seeing new songs first, and a different order of play, so watch this space!

Combining a built-in timer with a music playlist, it creates a structured session that keeps students motivated while they practise.

Overview

This page allows you to:

  • Set a countdown timer for a times tables session

  • Play a ready-made YouTube playlist alongside it

  • Create a consistent, timed practice routine for your class

It’s ideal for short, high-impact practice sessions—whether as a lesson starter, a transition activity, or a dedicated maths focus.

How to use it

  1. Choose your session length
Set the timer (e.g. 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes) depending on your lesson plan.

  2. Start the playlist
Play the embedded YouTube playlist to provide a fun, energetic background.

  3. Begin practising
Students can log into Times Tables Rock Stars and start answering questions while the timer counts down. In the event of a false start, you can use the reset button to restart the timer. You can also pause the timer.

  4. Work until the timer ends
The countdown helps create focus and a clear endpoint for the activity.

How do we pick the songs for the playlist?

Some of the songs in our playlist are hand-picked by our team here at Times Tables Rock Stars, but the majority of the tracks we've chosen come from requests from teachers and students! Do you or your class have a song to add? Let us know by emailing support@mathscircle.com!
