What is a Battle of the Bands?
A Battle of the Bands is a fun way to get groups of students competing against each other. They are a great way to sustain pupils' enthusiasm for TTRS.
You set the time for the Battle to start and finish and, during that period, the team with the highest average number of correct answers on any game within TT Rock Stars will be the winner.
How do players earn Battle points?
Every correct answer in any game type is worth 1 point towards your team's score. In other words, you can play in Garage, Rock Slam, Soundcheck, etc and earn 1 point per correct answer.
Teachers can earn points for themselves when participating in a students v teachers Battle, but cannot earn points on behalf of their classes in a pupils v pupils Battle.
💰 Don't confuse Battle points with coins! Coins are separate.
How does the scoring work?
The winning group has the highest average score.
Average score = total points / total number of people in group
This means that it's important for everyone to play, as the points are divided by all people in the group, whether they played or not!
Certificates are also generated for the top 3 most valuable players (most points) in each group.

They'll be a section on their dashboard telling them the battle is happening, and they can click on that to view the leaderboards. They don't need to "do" anything other than play as normal. Every correct question in any game mode, earns 1 battle point for their team.

Is the winner based on who is the quickest or who gets the most right answers?
It's the number of correct questions answered in any game mode. To ensure that the competition is fair, we divide the total correct answers per group, by the number of students in that group. So the winning group will be the one with the "highest average points per player".
Do the students see who wins the Battle?
Do the students see who wins the Battle?
Yes, as default they have access to a leaderboard. But, we also recommend you inform them and hand out certificates. If you don't want them to see the leaderboard, you can choose the "Hide leaderboard" option either as you create the Battle, or once the battle is in play. On your teacher dashboard, go to "Tournaments", then click the Battle. In the "Edit Battle" tab, select "Hide leaderboard".
Can I create a fake student so I can see what it looks like from their perspective?
Can I create a fake student so I can see what it looks like from their perspective?
Yes! Go to Account > Classes. Create a new class (maybe called "fake class") and then create a fake student for yourself. Then create another fake maths class and repeat. You can then create a battle between your two fake classes, then login as a student to see how it looks.
