Are you looking to inject some fun into an assembly by having teachers compete against each other to be the fastest times tables champion?!

You can have your teachers compete, live, for glory!

Here's how to do it.

What to do in advance:

1) Make sure each teacher who wants to take part knows their teacher login for TTRS. They don't need student accounts.

Make sure that the top setting says "First Name and Initial". As shown below. Don't worry, teacher first names will never show. It will always be "Ms Barnett" or equivalent.

What you'll need to do on the day:

1) If you can, connect a computer to a big screen and bring up your own TTRS account.

When you log in:

  • Click the play icon in the top right of your screen

  • Then click "Multiplayer."

  • Then click "Arena".

  • REALLY IMPORTANT - Click "Whole school"

  • Your screen should look like this:

2) There is no limit on the number of teachers that can compete at a time. You may want to do knockout rounds. Perhaps start with everyone for the first game, then the top 5 play again, then the top 3 and so on until you have a winner!

3) Make sure each teacher has their own device to compete on. Make sure they have done the following before you start:

  • Click the play icon in the top right of your screen

  • Then click "Multiplayer."

  • Then click "Arena".

  • REALLY IMPORTANT - Click "Whole school"

  • Their screen look the same as the image above.

4) When you're ready to start the first game:

โ€‹Your computer - choose a specific Arena on the list (for example "Vibe") and click SPECTATE. This means you display the live leaderboard on the board for all the children to see. You can see, live, who is winning!

The teacher devices - the teachers must choose the same Arena to play in (for example "Vibe"). They then just need to answer as many correct questions as they can.

After the minute is over, a final leaderboard will appear showing where each teacher is placed in the list. You can then repeat until you have an ultimate champion!

What to do post-competition:

Make sure that the top setting says "Rock Names." This means that when your students take part in Arena games, they won't see real student names which is our recommendation to maintain student privacy.
