The plan you receive is the best plan based on your trip and circadian profile. Our algorithm is the most effective and fastest shifting algorithm on the market.
If you start earlier the plan becomes very impractical as we would ask you to sleep during the day and get light during the night. The risk of failure is simply too high and very few people apart from astronauts would have a schedule flexible enough to do this. It is much safer and more practical to do as we advice.
And keep in mind: you will not be jet lagged while you are shifting. As long as you follow the plan you will feel fine thoughout your trip.
