Description text in Google calendar events
Description text in Google calendar events
Updated over a week ago

If you ever see this long text in your event description, we have some answers for you in this article.

This particular view happens only if you take a very specific path to add tags or properties to your calendar events:

1. Whenever you open a calendar event in a detailed view (on your general calendar page), a popup window for an event comes, and if you click "More options" here, you will be taken to a general event creation view.

2. If you then add any properties or tags to your event from that general view, this will result in a event modified description as illustrated above.

Why it happens

When you take this specific path to add tags or properties to your newly created events, Google prohibits sending their data and there is no way we can track newly created events and their associated tags and properties if your events have been created from the details page.

For us to still track the tags and properties you've added, we include the appropriate information in your event description, which results in the view you're seeing.

Note: Please be aware that it never overwrites your initial description if you had any, but it will appear below.
