At Timon, your security and compliance with financial regulations are top priorities. To protect your funds and ensure our platform operates smoothly, accounts may sometimes be temporarily restricted. If you've found that your account access is limited or you've received a restriction notice, it usually falls under one or more of the reasons outlined below.

1. Suspicious or Unusual Activity

Timon's security system automatically flags and restricts accounts when there’s activity that seems suspicious or outside your usual pattern. This could include:

  • Multiple failed login attempts.

  • Unusual device or location access.

  • High-volume or irregular transaction patterns.

2. Incomplete or Incorrect KYC (Know Your Customer) Information

To comply with regulatory standards, all Timon users must complete KYC verification. Your account may be restricted if:

  • Your KYC details (such as ID, phone number, or email) are invalid or inconsistent.

  • You’ve failed to update your information after a verification request.

  • You attempt to change your phone number or email without proper identity verification.

3. Violation of Timon's Terms of Use

Using Timon for prohibited activities will result in restrictions. These include:

  • Using the platform for scams or fraudulent activities.

  • Attempting to create multiple accounts using different identities.

  • Conducting transactions related to drugs, or any illegal trade.

  • Creating or deleting more than 2 cards in a day or more than 4 cards in a month, which may be flagged as misuse of the platform

4. Chargebacks or Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback or dispute a payment without first contacting support, your account may be restricted while the matter is under investigation.

5. Third-Party Reports

If we receive reports from other financial institutions, merchants, or regulatory bodies about potential misuse or security concerns linked to your account, we may place a restriction while we investigate further.

6. Inactive or Dormant Accounts

For your safety, Timon may temporarily restrict accounts that have not been accessed or used over a long period, especially if login attempts are detected from unknown devices.

7. Compliance and Regulatory Reviews

Periodically, Timon may conduct internal reviews in line with evolving financial regulations. Your account might be restricted if selected for such a review, especially if any documents or clarifications are pending from your end.

What to Do If Your Account Is Restricted

If you’ve received a restriction notice or you're unable to access your Timon account, here are the steps to take:

  1. Check your email or in-app notifications for specific instructions or information about the restriction.

  2. Reach out to Timon Support via the Help Center or support@timon.app with your registered email and any relevant details.

  3. Respond promptly if you’re asked to provide additional verification or documentation.

Final Thoughts

We understand that account restrictions can be frustrating, but they are necessary for the safety of all users and to comply with financial regulations. Timon is committed to resolving such issues as quickly and transparently as possible.
