Chances are you'll end up opting for both options anyway, but here's an overview of the key differences between our virtual and physical cards.

1. The design

Timon offers both physical and virtual cards to cater to diverse payment preferences. The physical card is a tangible item that can be carried for in-person transactions, offering a traditional payment experience.

It's worth noting that unlike other traditional physical cards, the Timon card only carries your Card ID and not sensitive details like your CVV for security reasons. Such details are only accessible via the app.

While a physical card is tangible, a virtual card only exists digitally. The Timon virtual card is accessible via the app where the card details are displayed. It offers a convenient and secure way to make online purchases.

2. Applications

Both our physical and virtual cards offer unique advantages to suit your lifestyle.

The physical card is perfect for everyday purchases and provides a tangible payment method for in-person transactions on your travels. It's ideal for shopping at stores, dining out, or withdrawing cash.

Our virtual card is designed for online convenience. It's perfect for hassle-free online shopping and paying for subscription services.

Whether you prefer the classic feel of a physical card or the digital ease of a virtual one, we've got you covered.

3. Convenience

Both our physical and virtual Timon cards are designed with your convenience in mind. Our physical card is always ready for in-person purchases, offering a familiar and hassle-free payment experience.

However, for added flexibility, our virtual card solution allows you to create multiple virtual cards for different purposes, such as online shopping or subscriptions, and manage them effortlessly through the Timon app.

4. All-round Use and Control

  • Virtual Cards: Available instantly through the Timon app, virtual cards are excellent for managing online payments and subscriptions. They offer flexibility and can be used as needed

  • Physical Cards: Timon’s physical cards provide robust features including higher transaction limits and the ability to be used for in-store purchases and ATM withdrawals. The cards are delivered fast to your doorstep (within 2 - 3 working days nationwide) and they are a dependable solution for diverse financial needs, especially when travelling or making high-value transactions.

Both Timon’s physical and virtual cards serve unique purposes, depending on your needs, you might choose to use both types for a comprehensive payment solution.
