How can I trim my recordings?

Trim and edit your meeting recordings

Updated yesterday

You can trim your meeting recordings to remove unwanted parts before sharing them. Trimming lets you cut out sections of the video so viewers only see what matters.

⚠️ Important: Trimming is permanent. Once a recording is trimmed, the removed parts can’t be recovered.

Who can trim a recording?

Only users with editing permissions can trim recordings:

  • Meeting admins

  • Editors

If you’re a viewer, you’ll see a Request edit access option instead.

How trimming works

Trimming happens directly inside the video editor using a visual timeline. You can:

  • Split the video into sections

  • Adjust section boundaries with drag handles or keyboard shortcuts

  • Delete sections you don’t want

  • Undo and redo changes before saving

Once you save, the video is processed on our servers and permanently updated.

Trim a recording

  1. Open the meeting recording you want to edit.

  2. Click the ✂️ Trim button on the player.

  3. Use the timeline to split, adjust, and delete sections.

  4. Preview your changes.

  5. Click Save to apply the trim.

After saving, the trimmed sections are permanently removed and won’t be accessible anymore.

One-time trimming limitation

At the moment, each recording can only be trimmed once.

  • If a recording has already been trimmed, you’ll see a tooltip:

“This recording has already been trimmed”

  • Re-trimming the same video isn’t supported yet.

We’re actively iterating on this feature, and this limitation may change in the future.

What happens after I trim?

  • The video is reprocessed on the server

  • The final version replaces the original

  • Removed sections are permanently deleted

  • Anyone with access to the recording will only see the trimmed version
