The Custom Words Dictionary lets you add words and phrases that you want transcription to recognize more accurately.
You can add words individually or upload them in bulk with a CSV file.
Add words to your Custom Words Dictionary
Go to Preferences.
Open Transcript & Language.
Find Custom Words Dictionary.
Add the words or phrases you want transcription to recognize.
Press Enter or comma after each word to add it to your dictionary.
Click Save when you're finished.
Add multiple words with a CSV file
If you have a large list of custom words, you can upload them with a CSV file instead of adding them one at a time.
Your CSV can contain up to 1,000 words or phrases.
Upload the file from the Custom Words Dictionary section, then save your changes.
What should you add?
Add words or phrases that transcription may have trouble recognizing, such as:
Customer or company names
Product or feature names
Internal acronyms and jargon
Industry-specific terminology
Names or phrases that are commonly transcribed incorrectly
Your custom words are used when transcribing your future recordings.
Only available on the Business plan
💡 Custom Words Dictionary is only available on the Business plan with Premium Transcripts.
Custom Words Dictionary is not available on other plans. It relies on the Premium Transcripts pipeline and is currently a Business-only feature.
If your account doesn't have access to Custom Words Dictionary, the option will appear unavailable in Preferences.
Custom Words Dictionary limit
You can add up to 1,000 words or phrases to your Custom Words Dictionary.
This limit applies whether you add words individually or upload them using a CSV file.
If you've reached the limit, remove existing words before adding new ones.
Personal and Team Custom Words Dictionaries
Your Custom Words Dictionary is for your personal transcription preferences.
If you're part of a team and want to standardize transcription for everyone, your workspace can also have a separate Team Custom Words Dictionary, in Admin Controls.
Team and personal dictionaries are separate, so you can maintain your own custom words while your team maintains a shared list.
