It's time for your first tl;dv meeting! 🚀

Auto-record meetings with Microsoft Teams

The best way to record your MS Teams meetings, is to enable auto-recording from your preferences:

Tip: You choose which meetings you’d like to record automatically:

  • All meetings - all of your meetings, regardless of who is present.

  • Internal meetings - where all participants share the same email domain as you.

  • External meetings - where at least one participant has a different email domain.

  • To record meetings manually or only record meetings that you join, install the tl;dv desktop app.

And that’s it. tl;dv automatically connects to your Outlook calendar when you log in with Microsoft or your Google calendar when you log in with Google, so it’s ready to go!

Important:

  • With auto-recording enabled, the tl;dv bot will still ask to join the meeting, so you can deny access on a per-meeting basis, or remove it from a meeting at any time.

  • The auto-recording setting will also apply for any Google Meet or Zoom meetings booked in your calendar. 👌

Manually record a Teams meeting

With the tl;dv desktop app installed, you’ll see the tl;dv icon in your menu bar (on Mac), or in your system tray (Windows). With a Teams meeting open, click it and choose “Start recording”:

Then, copy the invite link for the meeting (and the passcode if there is one), and paste it in to tl;dv. Click "Start recording" again, and the tl;dv bot will request to join your meeting:

Important: If the tl;dv bot cannot join the meeting, it won’t be recorded. Make sure the meeting host admits it.

Highlight meeting moments

While recording a meeting, highlight important moments with the pin icon (📌):

These notes will be timestamped and available with the recording in tl;dv:

Pro tip: For an automatic AI summary of important moments in every meeting, upgrade to the Pro plan. 👌

Other options

While recording a meeting, there are three other options in the tl;dv interface:

From left to right:

  • Stop and save the recording - If you’ve captured everything you need, stop the recording and the meeting will continue.

  • Change your auto-sharing settings - Choose to adjust who receives a link to the meeting recording.

  • Collapse the interface - Let AI do the work, and keep tl;dv in the background. (For full AI summaries, you must be on the Pro plan).
