Toast Mobile Order & Pay® Group Ordering: Overview

Toast Mobile Order & Pay®'s group ordering feature allows for multiple guests at one table to scan a QR code and begin ordering items on a single check.

  • Gives restaurants a seamless back-of-house experience, as all orders are on one ticket and guest names are displayed so servers know who each item is for

  • Allows guests to order their own items, without having one person submit the order for the whole table, or having each guest submit their own check separately

Enable/Disable Group Ordering With Toast Mobile Order & Pay®

  1. In Toast Web, navigate to Front of house > Mobile dining solutions > Toast Mobile Order and Pay & Digital Menus.

  2. From the Toast Mobile Order & Pay page, select Configurations.

  3. Next, scroll down to Ordering Experience > Group ordering. Here you can toggle your Group ordering setting on or off.

    • Note: If you wish to enable Group ordering, you must select Tabs under the Ordering Experience section. When selected, guests may order multiple rounds and pay at the end. This option is commonly used by full-service restaurants, bars, and breweries.

  4. Publish your changes.
