Do you want to cross-examine the payroll amounts being captured by xtraCHEF by comparing it to what's shown in Toast Payroll? The steps below will walk you through how to compare these two resources and ensure consistency across your payroll reporting and accounting.

To view payroll details in xtraCHEF, select the Sync Monitor tab from the left-side navigation. If you see Payroll Failed on a calendar day, select the calendar day in order to view the reason for the failed sync. In the screenshot below, a payroll line item is missing a GL code, so we'll select the WEEKLY journal link to view the payroll journal where we can fix the error.

In the payroll journal, line items that need to be resolved will be highlighted in red.

You can begin reconciling your xtraCHEF payroll details against Toast Payroll on a few different levels:

To match your Earnings totals, compare Earnings in xtraCHEF's payroll details to your Labor distribution by job report in Toast Payroll.

In xtraCHEF, start by viewing your payroll details in the Sync monitor. Navigate to Sync monitor and select a date with a synced (green) payroll entry. Select the named payroll hyperlink to open your payroll journal. Next, use the caret icon to expand the Earnings section and view your earnings details.

In the Earnings section above, we're noting the Server - REGULAR and Server - TIP Makeup amounts. Compare this and other amounts by role can be compared to your Labor distribution by job report in Toast Payroll. Locate this by navigating to Payroll > Past Payrolls > View. The Labor distribution by job report is located near the bottom of the page.
