Dimensions of Toast Hardware

This guide can help you plan out where your Toast equipment will go or if it will fit into a certain space in your restaurant.

In this article, L, W, and H refer to length, width, and height. Length is the dimension from left to right, width is the dimension from front to back, and height is the dimension from top to bottom.

The dimensions of a Toast router (without antennae) are:

  • 6.5” L x 3.8” W x 1.5" H

  • 16.5 cm L x 9.7 cm W x 3.8 cm H

Toast Switch

Toast offers different sizes of switches. The dimensions of a Toast switch are listed below:

  • From 7.7” L x 4.6” W x 1.4" H up to17.3” L x 8.6” W x 1.7" H

  • From 19.6 cm L x 11.7 cm W x 3.6 cm H up to 44 cm L x 21.9 cm W x 4.3 cm H

Wireless Access Point

Toast offers two different wireless access points (WAPs). The dimensions of both WAPs are listed below:

  • Indoor: 7.4" L x 7.4" W x 1.4" H

    • 18.8 cm L x 18.8 cm W x 3.6 cm H

  • Outdoor: 12" L x 7" W x 2.4" H

    • 30.5 cm L x 17.8 cm W x 6.1 cm H

  • 16.7” L x 7.2” W x 9.8" H

  • 14.50 cm L × 10.62 cm W × 12.90 cm H

Toast recommends a clearance space around the terminal and guest display footprint for attaching other devices, cable routing, and a better user interaction.

The dimensions of a Toast Flex for Guest when it's attached to a terminal (see the above image) are the same as a Toast Flex 14, but with an added width dimension:

  • 16.7” L x 10.2” W x 9.8" H

  • 34.7 cm L x 25.8 cm W x 25 cm H

The dimensions of a Toast Flex for Guest when it uses a wedge mount are:

  • 8.1” L x 6.1” W x 3.1” H

  • 20.5 cm L x 14.5 cm W x 8 cm H

  • Toast recommends leaving at least 2" (5 cm) around the guest-facing display for cable routing and a better guest experience.

  • 5.2" L x 5.5" W x 5.4" H

  • 13 cm L x 13.9 cm W x 13.7 cm H

  • We recommend 2" (5 cm) of clearance in the back for cable routing and 4.2" (10.6 cm) of clearance in the front to open the paper compartment.

  • Toast recommends 2" (5 cm) of clearance in the back for cable routing and 6" (14.5 cm) of clearance above the printer to open the paper compartment.

TLP400 Toast Label Printer

  • 8.1” L x 6.2” W x 6.3” H

  • 20.6 cm L x 15.8 cm W x 16 cm H

  • Toast recommends 2" (5 cm) of clearance in the back for cable routing and 6" (14.5 cm) of clearance above the printer to open the paper compartment.

Card Readers for US Restaurants

The dimensions of a Toast Tap™ on-counter are:

  • 3.2" L x 3.2" W x 1.8" H

  • 8.2 cm L x 8.2 cm W x 4.6 cm W

  • Toast recommends at least 1" (2.5 cm) of clearance on either side so a guest can swipe their card.
