Toast offers $1,000 for customers who refer new restaurants and help us grow the Toast community. In order to receive a bonus, the referral must meet our Terms and Conditions (applicable to U.S.-based employees and customers only), and the advocate must be a registered member of the Toast Referral Program. If there is any conflict between the information in this article and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions will govern.
Registered members of the Toast Referral Program receive access to tools that make it easier to share Toast with their network, track their referral's journey with Toast, and ensure a timely payout of their referral bonus.
Register for the Toast Referral Program
To sign up for the Toast Referral Program, you can create a login and password by registering yourself on refer.toasttab.com or receiving an invite from a member of the Toast Team.
Note: Toast Referral Program credentials are separate from the credentials used to log into Toast Web (pos.toasttab.com) and updating/resetting your Toast Referral Program password will not impact your POS back-end.

Navigate to the registration page here and enter your information when prompted.
Select the checkbox to agree to Toast Referral Program's Terms and Conditions.
Select Register when finished.
Check your email inbox for a confirmation email. You'll now be able to access the referrals portals using the credentials you registered with.
Invited by a Toast Team Member
Check your inbox for an invitation email to the Toast Referral Program.
When prompted, click on the blue Log In button and create a password.
Fill in the required account information and select Submit.

Once you've registered for the Toast Referral Program, refer your network in minutes using three easy steps:
Log in to the Toast Referral Program portal and select Refer a Friend.
Enter your referral's information on the right side of the screen when prompted.
Select Submit when finished. Our sales team will reach out within 24 hours to the prospective restauranteur to schedule a demo of our platform.
Want to spread the word to multiple friends at once? No problem! Select Get Personal URL to generate a personalized link you can share with friends via text or social media platforms. You can also share directly to Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn by selecting one of the options on the right-hand side of the homepage. If you're a Toast employee, please note in any social media post regarding the Toast Referral Program that you are a Toast employee.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible to participate in the referral program?
All U.S.-based Toast restaurant employees are eligible for a $1,000 referral bonus. This includes GMs, bartenders, servers, hosts, kitchen staff, etc. Non-Toast U.S.-based restaurant employees, friends, and family are also eligible for a referral bonus of $500. Check out our Terms and Conditions for additional information!
How do I know when I'm eligible for a bonus?
You can track your referral's Toast journey by logging into the referral portal and viewing the My Account page. From here, you will get real-time updates when the referral's status changes in Toast's records.
Once an eligible referral's status reaches Live on Toast, you'll typically receive your reward within 30 days.
Where is my referral reward?
Once the restaurant that you referred goes live on Toast, a reward will automatically be generated. Rewards are reviewed, processed, and paid in weekly batches so a reward can take approximately 30 days to hit your bank account once the restaurant goes live. If your referral has been live for more than 30 days, you should do the following:
Log in to your account at refer.toasttab.com. If you haven't registered, follow the directions for Registering for the Toast Referral Program above.
Note: You must be a registered member of the Toast Referral Program to receive a referral bonus.
Ensure that you’ve completed your bank and tax information via the Edit Bank Info and Edit Tax Info pages. We're unable to pay referral rewards unless you’re registered for the program and have completed your bank and tax information.
If your referral has been live for more than 30 days, you’re active on the platform, and you’ve completed your bank and tax information, you should reach out to your local sales rep or email referrals@toasttab.comfor an update. We typically respond within 5-7 business days.
I'm not seeing my referral on the portal - why?
Your referral may not have been submitted correctly in our system or to our sales team. Our Terms and Conditions outline that referrals must proactively be submitted to Toast either through the form on our website or in writing to a Toast rep. If your referral does not appear on your My Account page, please email our team at referrals@toasttab.com with the name of the restaurant you referred along with proof of the referral (text or email is acceptable).
I'm seeing my referral on the portal as “Live on Toast” but have not received my payout - why?
The reason you haven't received your payout is most likely due to your banking and tax information not being completed. Please log in to your account at refer.toasttab.com and complete the information on the Edit Bank Info and Edit Tax Info pages. Once these steps are completed, our team will review your reward and if it meets our Terms and Conditions, you can expect to receive payment within 30 days. Please note that per the Terms and Conditions, Toast reserves the right to determine whether a referral is eligible for a payout.
I entered my bank and tax information and still have not received my payment - why?
In this scenario, we may have tried to deposit into your bank account and your banking information may be incorrect. In this case, please log in to the referral portal at refer.toasttab.com and navigate to the Edit Bank Info page. From there, re-enter your bank account information, routing number, and name of account holder. We can then attempt to deposit your payout again. If you're unable to enter your bank information and are hitting any errors, please reach out to referrals@toasttab.com and we can assist.
When and how are referral bonuses paid?
Referral bonuses are paid via direct deposit. Direct deposit is the only method to receive your payout as outlined in our Terms and Conditions. The deposit will come from Impartner, who is our payment processor. You become eligible for a referral bonus once the restaurant you referred goes live (or starts processing orders) with Toast. Typically it takes about 30 days from that date before you officially receive payment but may be sooner depending on your bank.
Within the referral portal, you’ll have the ability to update your banking and tax information at any time from the Edit Tax Info and Edit Bank Info pages. These pages must be completed in order to receive rewards, but they only need to be completed once.
Do I need to be registered with the Toast Referral Program to refer restaurants?
Restaurant owners and operators can refer restaurants directly to their Toast sales representative in writing via email or text. If this occurs, the sales representative will send the advocate an invitation email to the Toast Referral Program to sign up for the program. You'll want to ensure that you are registered for the program and have completed your banking and tax information so we can pay your bonus in a speedy manner!
Can I receive rewards for referring restaurants with multiple locations to Toast?
Yes! Per our Terms and Conditions effective 1/6/22, you'll receive the full reward for the first location referred (either $1,000 or $500) and an additional $250/location for locations 2-5 and $500/location for locations 6-10. Head over to our full Terms and Conditions for additional details.
As a reminder, there is no limit to the number of referrals you can submit to Toast. One advocate earned over $10,000 in referral rewards last year - can you top that?
What is the best way to refer restaurants to Toast?
Spread the word! Within your Toast Referral Program account, you have a referral URL that is unique to you. Share your unique URL with your restaurant community. You can also post to social and receive credit for the referral when followers that clicked your link go live with Toast! Can a location get the referral fee for referring another location within the same restaurant group, even if the referred restaurant has a different owner?
Referral bonuses are not given to those who refer restaurants within their own restaurant group, even if the referred restaurant has a different owner.
