Question
How do I add images to menu items for Toast Online Ordering?
Answer
Toast recommends using images at the menu item level to optimize menu navigation and provide your guests a smooth experience. The menu item images you use for your main restaurant website are pulled to your Toast Online Ordering site.
Log in to Toast Web and navigate to the Menus > Bulk management > Advanced properties.
Then, use the arrow (>) icons to expand your menus and groups and navigate to the menu item to which you want to add an image. Select the name of the menu item to open the item details page.
Scroll down to the Properties section upload an image and add a description. Images should be a rectangle, 750px by 450px, and in a .PNG file format.
You can also choose to tailor your images to the guidelines required by both Toast online ordering and third-party ordering platforms to make for one seamless sync. Find each third-party ordering partner’s image specifications here:
Please note that it may take at least two hours after uploading images and then saving and publishing all changes for your online ordering site to have these images showing.
