Display Payment Status on Kitchen Ticket

Is there a way to show order payment status on a kitchen ticket?


Answer

For printed tickets: Yes, payment status can be included on the receipt footer specifically for the expediter on takeout and delivery orders only.

You can set this up by following these steps:

  1. In Toast Web, navigate to Kitchen > Printers, tickets, & KDS devices > Kitchen and ticket setup.

  2. In the Printed Tickets section, scroll down to the Ticket Footer setting and check the box to show Payment Status (Takeout and Delivery only) for the Expediter.

  3. Save and publish your changes.

When the dining behavior for the order is set as Takeout or Delivery and you select Pay on the POS, the order will send to the kitchen, even though payment hasn’t been taken yet. The kitchen ticket will print with Payment Required. If you take a payment on the order after the order has been sent to the kitchen, a new ticket will not be printed.

For KDS tickets: If you're using a KDS with the view set to New Grid View, payment status will automatically be displayed on tickets if the order is taken via Quick Order POS screen.

Payment status will not be displayed on the ticket when using Table Service Mode on the POS. To see the payment status of an order taken via Table Service Mode on the POS, you'll need to select KDS ticket to see more details.
