Question

  • How do I print a server's shift review?

  • How do I print a check-out report for a server?

  • How do I print a server's previous day's shift review?

Answer

Shift review reports can be printed from the POS terminal (not from Toast Web) while performing the shift review. Shift reviews are essential for managing an employee's performance and reconciling any tips throughout their shift. Servers will have the option to print their shift review before fully clocking out. To do this, they will need to select the printer icon next to the Clock out & start new shift button.

Keep in mind that shift reviews on the POS can only be accessed for the previous days in your business week. For example, if your business week ends on a Sunday, and it is currently Wednesday, you will be able to access the shift reviews for Tuesday and Monday, but not Sunday since it is within the previous business week. Customer Care can assist you with adjusting your business start of week temporarily to access shift reviews within the past 7 days. Shift reviews from weeks or months ago are not available.

If you want to print a previous day's shift review, follow these steps:

  1. Employees should navigate to the POS terminal menu > My Account > and select Shift Review.

    • Managers can alternatively navigate to the POS terminal menu > Manager Activities > Review Employee Shifts to see open and closed shifts by date, where they can print shift reviews for different employees.

    • Note: Shifts created in Toast Web instead of on the POS will not appear in the Review Employee Shifts function on your POS.

  2. On the left-hand side pane, select the overflow menu icon (three dots), then select Other shifts.

  3. Next, select the previous day's shift, then select Okay.

  4. Once done, select the overflow menu icon, then select Print shift review. If you have multiple printers, select the printer that you wish to use from the list, then select Okay.
