As a manager or employer, can I set up a notification to appear when employees clock in, clock out, and take or miss a break?
Answer
Notifications like this can be set up using Sling by Toast. Sling offers dashboard notifications for employees clocking in and out and employee notifications for when they need to take a break (this requires automated breaks to be enabled in Sling).
You can also see auto clock outs in both Sling and Toast Web, but notifications for this are not available at this time.
In Sling, navigate to Time Clock. Select the Filter button and adjust the Auto clock-out filter to Yes.
In Toast Web, navigate to Reports > Labor > Time entry management. Now select the Columns button and make sure Auto clock-out has a checkmark so it appears on the report. If you don't have any auto clock-outs, the toggle at the top will be unavailable and will say No auto clock-outs. If auto clock-outs are present, enable the X auto clock-outs (where X is the number of auto clock-outs) toggle to view them on their own.
