Issue: Scheduled Orders Will Not Close
If the check has a pink background, from a Toast Device, navigate to Mode and select Pending Orders.
If there are orders visible on the screen, select the 3 dots in the right corner of the screen and select Approve.
Note: If these orders were stuck from a previous day, upon approval, the guest will not be charged again. The order wasn't fired, therefore, once you approve these orders they will print to the kitchen. Be sure to inform the kitchen not to prepare items on the ticket
If scheduled orders still will not close, navigate to Mode and select Future checks. Sometimes orders will get stuck here and display a negative firing time (i.e. firing in -127 mins.) This is caused when at the time an order was scheduled to fire, there was an issue with the auto-firing device, and the order got stuck.
To solve this, change the schedule on the check to ASAP and select Send. This will allow you to close the check.
Note: If auto-firing caused the issue, there may be a message displaying in red: There is an issue with the auto-fire device. It may require additional troubleshooting to fix this. Check out this Toast Central article on Set Up Order Auto-Firing to learn more.

Issue: Scheduled Order Checks Stuck in Pending Status; Checks Not Firing to the Kitchen
Review the troubleshooting steps in this Toast Central article, Troubleshoot Orders Not Firing With Pending Orders to learn more about pending orders. If nobody signs into a device at all throughout the day, orders won't be approved and will be "stuck" on the pending orders screen. You may want to use a KDS (Kitchen Display Screen) device as your auto-fire device since it's used in the kitchen often, and someone typically signs in at the beginning of the day. Even if the device times out, it will still be able to approve online orders until the restaurant closes (since someone signed into it initially).

If you have order parameters set to "manually approve", you'll need to approve all the orders before they will fire. You can make adjustments to have items auto-fire or require approval using the instructions in this Toast Central article, Set Up Order Auto-Firing.
