Question
How can I remind employees to enroll into benefits during open enrollment?
Answer
The Nudge feature allows employers to easily remind benefit-eligible employees that they still need to enroll into benefits.
Navigate to Benefits. The Pending Enrollments tab of the Benefits Dashboard displays a list of current benefit-eligible employees who have not yet made their elections in Toast Payroll.
Select the Nudge
icon next to the employee's name to remind an individual employee that they still need to enroll into benefits. Using the Nudge All (Filtered) button will in the current list.
A pop-up will give you the option to send an email to the employee, as well as a to-do notification to the employee and/or their manager. If you include the manager, it will be sent to the manager that the employee directly reports to in Toast Payroll. The text in the notification is generic, but you may tailor this as needed by selecting the yellow Edit button in the bottom-left corner. Otherwise, press Send to deliver the notification.
On the Pending Enrollments page, there is an option to send a nudge notification to multiple employees at once. First, use the filters at the top to locate the desired employees and then select the Nudge All (Filtered) button. Just like above, you may send an email notification to the employee or a to-do notification to the employee and/or manager. Press Edit to modify the body of the message or Send to deliver the message.
Once an employee is nudged, a number value will display in the Days Since Notified column. This column represents the number of days since the last time an employee was nudged. If the employee has never been nudged, no value will be displayed. Once an employee is nudged, select that number and you may view the historical record of who sent the nudge, who received it, and the date this took place.
