If you're seeing mismatches between your chart and order entry panel (e.g., placing trades on the wrong asset), it's likely due to a Chart Link issue.
Project X uses a color-coded linking system to keep your components (like charts, DOM, and order entry panels) in sync. When they're properly linked, changing the symbol in one component will automatically update the others.
🛠️ Step 1: Link Your Components with Color
You can assign a color to each component to "link" them together.
To do this:
Look for the link icon near the top of each component (e.g., DOM or Time & Sales).
Click the icon and select a shared color (like 🔵 blue).
Repeat this step for any other components you'd like to sync (e.g., order entry panel, chart, etc.).
Once linked, any symbol change in one component will instantly update the others using the same color.
📊 Step 2: Link Your Chart
Linking a chart works a bit differently.
To link a chart to a color:
Click on the chart to highlight it.
In the top toolbar, click Add Chart Link.
This will add a “Link” indicator to your chart.
In the top left corner of your chart, you’ll see the word “Link.” Hover your mouse over it, and a gear icon (settings) icon will appear. Click gear icon to open the indicator settings. Then, under the “Inputs” tab, choose the color you want to link with your other components.
Now your chart is linked! Any symbol change in a linked component will update the chart automatically.
🔄 Step 3: Test It Out
Try loading a new symbol in your order entry panel or DOM — your chart should instantly update if everything is linked correctly.
If not, double-check that all components share the same color.
