How to use the reprocessing tool

Want to change settings to an existing video? Do you have your event open? This is your article

What is the reprocessing tool used for?

Mistakes happen to everyone. We may have selected the wrong audio file, committed a spelling mistake in our overlay, missed adding an effect, or the client simply wants to make changes to the existing videos. Manual editing for videos using external software can be tedious and not so useful, since the web gallery wouldn't be used. We have the right solution for you!

The reprocessing tool is an automatic feature that allows you to edit the following aspects of a recorded video:

  • Audio

  • Overlay

  • Effects

Step 1: Apply the new changes

To make this tool work, we need first to apply the correct changes we want in our videos. Each option has different ways to work, so pay attention to the following guide:

  • Overlays: To apply new overlays, we need to go to the website and head to our events tab. By clicking on overlays, we can manage them to delete the ones that we're going to change. Once ready, add a new overlay on the designer or edit an existing one.

  • Music: Similarly to the overlays, go to your event settings on the website and delete the audio file. This way, we're making sure that it won't apply anymore. Now that it is deleted, we can go to the app to add our new audio file.

  • Effects: Simpler than the previous two, we simply need to go to our photo/video effects on the app, and remove the effects that we don't want, and add and set up the new one(s).

Step 2: Using the reprocessing tool

After the previous steps are completed, let's head to the reprocessing tool. You can find it on the app settings > Advanced Tools. Here, you can find two options, so let's explain them:

  • Replace audio in all videos: This process will replace the current audio in all videos with the selected song.

  • Process selected video: You can reprocess a specific video by tapping this option, followed by navigating through your local files to find the RAW folder (local device storage).

  • Reprocess all videos: Reprocess all videos to reapply all the effects (original file required).

Step 3: Upload to the web gallery

Now that all videos are reprocessed, it is time to upload them to the web gallery. In order to do so, we will access to the app's menu, in the top left corner, and access to queue. Here, by pressing reupload all videos, the videos on the web gallery will start to upload again, replacing the web gallery videos that have been already uploaded.

Web gallery cache may take some time to refresh, so do not worry if the thumbnails are not changed at the same moments. Open the videos to check the new changes applied.

Keynotes

  • This process can only be done in Touchpix app, not available for website.

  • Check that all new changes applied in the app (if added from the website), and refresh the event if needed.

  • This reprocessing tool only works for videos. Photos cannot be reprocessed, and photos cannot have their overlay or effects changed with the reprocessing tool.

  • Reprocessing tool works exclusively with active events, closed or expired events cannot be edited.

  • To replace the overlay and effects, it is mandatory to have the RAW files stored in the device. If this folder is missing, it would not be possible to change overlay and/or effects.
