How to add music to your event

See the different possibilities to add music or audio to your event, individually or multiple

Why having music in the videos?

Adding music to the videos recorded in a photo booth enhances the final product and the overall guest experience. The soundtrack sets the mood, bringing energy and emotion to each clip, while helping guests feel more confident and expressive on camera. It transforms simple recordings into lively, shareable memories that reflect the event’s atmosphere.

Touchpix has the perfect solution for you to add single music files, multiple files or preset music to your event.

How to get music for your event?

We recommend using royalty-free music for your events. Posting videos with copyrighted music can lead to certain issues with music labels. There are some royalty-free music on any of the following website, for example:

We do not recommend using Youtube-to-mp3 converters or converting a screen recording into a mp3 file since the music can be copyrighted. The audio file must be a true MP3 file to work properly. If you are not sure, use mp3cut.net tool to convert other files to .mp3.

How to add music to your event

As many other features within Touchpix, adding audio is just as easy as uploading the file in the right place. This can be done either on the website event manager or in-app.

If you missed adding music during the initial processing, you can use our reprocessing tool to fix the audio in previous videos.

Steps

  1. Open Touchpix app or event manager

  2. Tap on 'Video Effects - Audio' option, under "VIDEO" tab

  3. Select the session type you want to add audio to between: 'Video', 'Boomerang', 'Slomo' or 'GIF'. You can add different files for each function, it is not mandatory to play one file for all functions

  4. Tap on 'Add Audio' button on the timeline section. A menu will be displayed

At this point, you can choose among 3 different options, as explained below:

  • Audio: Upload your own music or audio file (.mp3 up to 10MB)

  • Jukebox: Upload up to 3 files and create a jukebox song selector to the session. Enable "randomized" for the app to choose a random song each session from the attached audios

  • Music templates: Choose among 15 different songs provided by Touchpix, reducing the need to search for a music file online

Note: If you encounter issues with music not applying, ensure it is re-added within the app interface.

Manage Audio Post Event

It is possible to replace audio in all recorded videos, or selected videos. For this process, RAW or Original files are not needed.

Keynotes and tips

  • Audio not applying to videos: It is very common to add the audio from the website event manager. In this case, it will be the app processing the videos, so the file must be on the app as well. Check in the app if the audio is added in the correct function and refresh the event if needed, until the orange soundwave shows, indicating that the audio is added.

  • No audio post-event export: In the case the previous point has not been checked, and videos turn out to not have audio at the end of the event, the reprocessing tool can still be used to add audio in all videos.

  • Audio not uploading to the event: Use a shorter file name and avoid special characters, such as / , [ ] () _ -. This special characters may create issues while applying the audio to the video. Make sure to use a simple file name, with no special characters.

  • Cloud file is not uploading: Make sure that the used mp3 file is located within your local storage. If it's in a cloud service, download it to your device, and upload from your local storage.

  • No audio during recording: The audio will be played after the video is processed. Music or audio will not play during the actual recording screen.

  • Audio file length: Audio files can be very large, depending on certain factors such as bitrate or sample rate. This means that adding a 5-minute audio file to your event can slow the processing time. Try matching the audio length with the video final length, with at least 3 more seconds of audio. For example, if the video is 20 seconds long, add a music file cut in 23–25 seconds.
