Use the steps below to Choose the Master Schedule Template to export Touchplan tickets and quickly identify any discrepancies between dates.
Prior to exporting Touchplan Tickets:
Make sure to have added tickets to your plans that align with any Master Schedule dates to compare later.
Ensure you have entered the unique Master Schedule specific ID in the 'External Schedule ID' field on the Touchplan tickets you wish to compare.
In your External Master Scheduling Program:
For P6 users: Download the schedule template you created in P6 during Step 1
For Microsoft Project users: Download the schedule template you created in Microsoft Project during Step 1
In Touchplan:
Open your project in Touchplan and select Scheduling under the triple-dot dropdown menu (next to the project name).
Select Choose and attach the template that you exported (from your Master Schedule tool).
Once this is attached, select Export Milestones.
Download the new report that becomes available and import that new file back into your Master Schedule.
This will add a column titled “Touchplan Finish” in your External Master Schedule so you can identify any discrepancies between milestones dates in Touchplan vs. the Master Schedule.
*Note: Touchplan will use this data in your Touchplan v. Master Schedule tile on your Insights Dashboard to visually show any differences between Touchplan and Master Schedule ticket dates.
