For P6 Users:
Below are three quick steps to add the Touchplan tickets back into P6 using the Master Schedule Alignment Template.
Import the updated Master Schedule template updated from Touchplan into P6.
Execute Global Change to calculate the Touchplan Finish Difference.
Engage the created 'Touchplan Differences' P6 Filter to highlight items where the Touchplan finish does not match the plan dates.
For Microsoft Project Users:
Below are the steps to add the Touchplan milestones back into Microsoft Project using the Master Schedule Alignment Template.
Open project
Open the Touchplan generated external schedule export file (select all files and pick the XLSX generated from Touchplan)
The Import Wizard will appear
Click Next
If this is the first time importing, you’ll have to create a map. Otherwise choose the Touchplan Import map you previously created
Indicate that you want the import values to MERGE with the active project:
Indicate desire to import Tasks with Headers
Remap the fields for the Tasks tab. (Not shown in the screenshot below is the mapping for the Touchplan Ticket URL field).
Make sure the ID field is marked as the Merge Key
Complete the import (or Save the map as Touchplan Import if this your first time)
