How can I stagger player registration for an event?

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is only available with the following products:

Q: I am using Event and League Registration and would like to stagger event registration based on my membership levels. How can I do this?
A: Invitation List is the ideal option if you want to allow a select group of individuals to register before all others on your master roster. For example, if you have three membership levels, A, B, and C, those with a membership class of A get to register before B and C.

However, suppose you want to create a more advanced, multi-step, staggered registration. In that case, you can use custom fields to create registration date eligibility requirements allowing players who match select custom field(s) from the master roster to register on specific days. For example, say we have four membership levels, A, B, C, and D, where we allow Membership Class A to register, then a week later, Class B and C can register, but Class D is not eligible for the event.

To create staggered player registration, follow these directions:

  1. Set up event registration. For complete details, Click Here.

  2. Go to Event > Registration Center > Registration Dates.

  3. Click the option "Add Registration Opening Dates by Golfer Custom Field" (as shown below).

  4. Select the Custom Field to establish eligibility to register on the specific date.

  5. If necessary, click "Other Custom Field(s) to add additional custom fields to establish eligibility. Note: Player must meet all custom field criteria to be able to register. You can create multiple options to allow more players to register on the same date or another date.

  6. Enter the date players can register who meet the custom field eligibility criteria (as shown below).

  7. Repeat steps 4-6 to add additional registration open dates with custom field(s).

  8. Add registration dates for invitation list, membership, everyone, and close dates (if necessary).

  9. Click "Save."
