What score should be entered if someone does not play a hole?

Updated over 4 months ago

Q: What score should be entered if someone does not play a hole for a valid or invalid reason (outlined by the Rules Committee)?

A: When a player does not start a hole for a valid or invalid reason, you should always refer to the applicable "Rules of Handicapping" set forth by your Authorized Association.

In Golf Genius, when entering scores, you have the option to leave the hole blank and not enter any score (as shown below).

When leaving a hole blank and not entering a score:

  • Stroke Play leaderboard will count as a missing hole and the scorecard will be marked as "DNF".

  • Match Play leaderboards will count as a missing hole and loss of hole.

  • Stableford and Quota leaderboards will count as a missing hole, and no points will be awarded.

  • Score will be calculated and posted by the Handicap Provider according to Authorized Association "Rules of Handicapping" for the hole(s) not played. Note: For additional details, please Refer to the applicable "Rules of Handicapping" set forth by your Authorized Association.
