Adding Players to a Golf Trip

Updated over 4 months ago

This article is intended for the users of the following products:

Without players, there’s no golf trip. As your group takes shape for the trip, you can organize the list of players with basic information (first name, last name, email address, handicap identifier) and any additional information as needed (such as emergency contact, travel details, etc).

To add players to your trip, we suggest importing them from GHIN or entering them manually (if players do not have a GHIN ID). If you have a large number of players and you already have a spreadsheet of the players and their information compiled, then you can alternatively upload players via spreadsheet.

Import Players from GHIN:

To import a player from GHIN, follow these instructions to import them from GHIN:

  1. Go to Golfers > Trip Roster > Import Golfers from GHIN

  2. Select "All GHIN"

  3. Select the state, last name, and first name of the player

  4. Click "Search"

  5. Click "Add"

The sequence below shows the process of importing a player from GHIN.

Add Players Manually:

If you have one or more players who do not have GHIN IDs, follow these instructions to enter them manually:

  1. Golfers > Trip Roster > Add Golfers Manually.

  2. Enter the following information for every player:

    1. Last Name

    2. First Name

    3. Email

    4. Handicap Index

  3. Select the authorization disclaimer.

  4. Click “Save Roster”.

The sequence below shows the process of adding some players manually to a trip.

If you'd like to enter information (other than what is highlighted in the bullets above), you will need to create custom fields before adding players. Follow the instructions below to accomplish this:

  1. Go to Trip > Custom Fields > New Custom Field.

  2. Create a new custom field (e.g., phone number, emergency contact, flight details, etc).

After creating the desired custom fields, you can click "Edit Fields" to enter the custom field answers for every player while entering them manually.

Upload via Spreadsheet:

This method is usually not suggested unless you have a large list of players that are already contained in a spreadsheet (as shown below).

The spreadsheet should contain a column for first name, last name, Handicap Index or (GHIN ID), and any additional custom fields that are needed. When the spreadsheet is ready to be uploaded, go to Golfers > Trip Roster > Upload Spreadsheet > Choose File. Import the file, and click “Upload”.
