If your league is team-based, you surely run into cases where you need a substitute for a team. This is nothing unusual. Players get sick, injured, or have conflicting schedules, and you need to find a replacement.
β
While in some cases, you may use a blind to replace the canceling player, in most cases, subs will be used. There are a few different scenarios you may find yourself in when dealing with subs:
Sub needed, pairings not yet created.
Sub needed, pairings already created and organized by team (teammates playing in same pairing group).
Sub needed, pairings already created but not organized by team (teammates not playing in the same pairing group)
Sub needed, pairings not yet created:
Add the sub to the league roster as you would usually add players.
Go to Rounds > Round Player Roster and make sure the sub is marked as attending.
Go to Rounds > Round Divisions/Flights/Teams and make sure the sub is included in the correct division or flight (if used). Then go to Rounds > Round Divisions/Flights/Teams > Manage Team Lists > Manage Teams. Edit the membership of the team in question and replace the canceling player with the sub. The sub will then properly be placed in the pairings when they are created.
(Note: This will not affect all past and future rounds' divisions, flights, and teams. If the sub plays again in a future round, make sure to complete these steps again.)
Sub needed, pairings already created and organized by team:
Add the sub to the league roster as you would usually add players.
Go to Rounds > Round Divisions/Flights/Teams > Manage Team Lists > Manage Teams. Select "Manage Subs" for the team that needs to be changed. Replace the canceling player with the sub. The sub will automatically be placed in the pairing, replacing the canceling player.
Save the changes.
Sub needed, pairings already created but not organized by team:
