How can I update Handicap Indexes using multiple Handicap Service Providers?

Updated over 4 months ago

Q: I would like to update Handicap Indexes for an event. However, not all players use the same handicap service provider. In the Event Profile, I can only select one handicap service provider to update Handicap Indexes. Is it possible to update Handicap Indexes for an event using multiple handicap service providers?

A: You can only update Handicap Indexes using one handicap service provider at a time. However, you can follow the instructions below for the best method in accomplishing this.

  1. The players need their handicap service ID stored in our system. Furthermore, a custom field

needs to be created that identifies what handicap service the player uses.

If players are being updated/uploaded via spreadsheet, then the fields should look similar to above. When matching the columns during the upload process, match "Handicap Service ID" with one of the handicap service provider IDs (e.g., GolfNet, GHIN). Leave the "Handicap Service" field unmatched.

You can also create the custom field manually, and go to Golfers > Event Roster and select the players individually to answer the "Handicap Service" custom field.

  2. Go to Event > Event Profile > Handicap Settings. Select one of the handicap service providers.

  3. Go to Golfers > Update Handicap Indexes. Filter by the "Handicap Service" custom field and select the handicap service provider that is currently selected in the Event Profile.

Click "Search", select all the filter players, then "Update". The Handicap Indexes for all the players with that handicap service will be updated for the event.

  4. Go to Event > Event Profile > Handicap Settings. Select the other Handicap Service being used. Save the changes.

  5. Repeat step #3 above by filtering with the other "Handicap Service" custom field.
