Using Decimal Handicaps

Decimal Playing Handicaps are often used in competition as a way to reduce the chance of ties. This article will cover how to use decimal Playing Handicaps. To set up Decimal Playing Handicaps for a tournament, follow these instructions: The tournament will then be set up to use Decimal Playing Handicaps

  1. Go to the tournament setup.

  2. Select one of the following Decimal Handicap options:

    1. Round to the nearest whole number - USGA method

    2. Round to the nearest half stroke (Click Here for more details on Half Strokes)

    3. Round down to the nearest half stroke (Click Here for more details on Half Strokes)

    4. Round to the nearest tenth

    5. Round to nearest hundredth

  3. Click "Continue".

  4. Save the tournament.

Decimal Handicap Notes:

  • To check calculations go to Handicap Analysis under the Round Tab. For more information on Handicap Analysis.

  • Decimal Playing Handicaps can also be used for Stableford tournaments. Click Here for details.

  • If printing scorecards with decimal Playing Handicaps for a team tournament, make sure to show every pair, foursome, or team on their own row on the scorecard (as shown below). This will ensure the decimal Playing Handicaps are listed next to each team on the scorecard.
