When creating or editing a report using our Report Composer, you may have a need to sort certain information in the report.
Take a look at the structure of the report above. The report will be organized by flight with the teams listed within each flight, then with the players listed within each team.
The question is, how do you want the flights, teams, and players sorted in this report? As you see above, you can select the sort method for each structural level.
Let's select the sort method for how the teams will be listed within each flight (as shown below).
See the sequence above. The teams within each flight will now be sorted by Total Team Handicap Index in ascending order. When selecting the sort method, you can always click "Refresh Preview" to ensure the sort method is what you are looking for.
In the screenshot above, I have selected the sort method for Team Flight to be by Position (This is the position in which the flights are ordered in "Manage Divisions/Flights/Teams"). The teams, as shown in the earlier sequence, are ordered by Total Team Handicap Index. Finally, the players shown within each team are sorted by Individual Handicap Index.
β
When you have saved your sorting methods, those will also be seen in the report structure, (as shown below).
The report below is a result of the sorting method used in the screenshots above.
β
You also have the option to further drill down the sorting with some secondary sorting. For instance, maybe you want the teams sorted by Total Team Handicap Index. But what if two teams have the same Total Team Handicap Index? Click "Add Sort Field" to add a secondary sorting method (as shown below).
β
Take a look above. The primary team sorting method is by Total Team Handicap Index. However if there are any ties, then we will sort the ties by the Best Individual Handicap Index on each team.
