Changing Data Files With Publisher Scoreboard Templates

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is available for the following products:

To change the data file associated with your Microsoft Publisher scoreboard templates, use the following steps:

1. Under Catalog Tools - select "edit list" as seen below.

2. Select - "add existing list".
Find and select your NEW spreadsheet as shown below.

Approve the data in the new spreadsheet and table as shown below.

3. Remove the old spreadsheet. Both data files are now linked and the old spreadsheet will have to be removed as shown below.

As long as your new spreadsheet has the same column names as the previous one linked to the publisher file, your publisher file will have all the new fields in it.

Tips:

  • If you have downloaded a new spreadsheet - simply rename your spreadsheet with the same name as the previous one and save it in the same location (delete old spreadsheet). The next time you open up the Publisher file - the data will be updated.

  • The steps listed above are for if you want to personalize a template for re-use at your facility. It allows you to avoid overwriting the file for the original event.

  • Use "Save As" before getting started - this way you can go back to the functioning template.
