There are a few different ways to create and print scoreboards with our software. Click Here for all of the options.
One of the options is using our Scoreboard Composer. While this method has limitations in customization, it is a quick and easy way to create and print scoreboards directly in our software. In this article, we will discuss how to use the Scoreboard Composer.
Designing Scoreboards using the Scoreboard Composer:
To use this option, go to Rounds > Report Center > Basic Reports > Scoreboards > Configure & Print as show below.
All scoreboards that you've set up so far in the league or event will be available here. You can see in the previous graphic we have already created a Ladies and Men's Scoreboard. This page is essentially your scoreboard library. To set up a new scoreboard, click on "Add a Scoreboard".
On the right there is a preview of the scoreboard. On the left, you will find the settings as shown below.
Let's talk a little more in depth about each setting ....
Header - Each scoreboard can have a large header at the top. You can select to use the event/league name, division, flight, custom text, or just leave it blank.
Sub-Header - This will show below the main header in a slightly smaller font. Again, you can select the event/league name, division, flight, custom text, or leave it blank.
Header Font/Style - Select the style of font you'd like to use for the header and sub-header.
Name Box Font/Style - The scoreboard will display the player's names or team names (depending on the option you select later in the setup). What font/style would you like to use for these names/teams?
Tournament - This is an important one. Select the tournament that you'd like to print the scoreboards for. This will determine how the players will be grouped on the scoreboard based on the tournament as singles, pairs, or as foursomes.
Number of Score Boxes: The score boxes will be to the right of the names. You can select how many boxes should be displayed for each team/player. Maybe there is a Net and Gross score for each player in an 18 hole tournament. If that is the case, you will need two boxes. Also note that if you have selected a multi-round tournament to be used, the appropriate number of boxes will already be added (e.g., 36-hole event will automatically populate 2 boxes).
Names:
The Names tab allows you to customize how the team/players names show on the leaderboard as shown below.
Show Player/Team Name: Do you want to show the team names (if teams have been created in Divisions/Flights/Teams) on the leaderboard or the player names?
Show Affiliation(s): If the players have affiliations entered in the player roster, then they can be displayed next to their names.
Capitalize Player and Team Names: This will put the "cap locks" on and capitalize every letter.
Leave Space for Player Photo(s): If you'd like to display player/team photos next to their name, this option will leave some space for that. You can print these photos and paste them in this empty area.
Sometimes events like to have player/team photos next to their names on the scoreboard. By selecting that option, there will be space available to the left of the names to put a team/player photo.Format Names: How would you like the names formatted on the scoreboards? When using the "Roster Display Format", we will look to see how the Handles are currently formatted in the player roster.
Rows Per Page: Select how many players/teams you'd like listed on each page.
Labels:
The labels show at the top of the scoreboard and essentially act as headers for the teams/players and the boxes.
Below, you will see there is a "Net" and "Gross" header for both columns of boxes.
Scores:
The Scores tab allow you to customize how the score boxes show on the leaderboard as shown below.
Display Seed Number and Matches: This option is primarily used for Member-Guest Invitational events. Each team's seed will be listed next to their team name. In each scoring box, each opponents seed will be listed.
Split Score Boxes with Diagonal Line: The main score boxes will be split so you can enter Gross/Net or Stroke Play/Stableford Score.
Split Total Row Boxes with diagonal line: If you have a second row of boxes to display the cumulative totals so far, they can also be split.
Show a row for cumulative totals: Related to the last option, if you'd like a second row of score boxes to show the cumulative totals, check this option.
Colors:
There is the option to "dress up" the scoreboard with some color as well. You can change the color of the header, subheader, names, name boxes, and the border of the boxes as shown below.
