How can I drop the worst Par 3, Par 4, and Par 5 scores?

Updated over 4 months ago

Q: We are playing a tournament format where we drop the worst par 3, par 4, and par 5 from the total score? How can I set this up?

A: You can do this by setting up three separate tournaments (one for each par) and linking the tournaments. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to Rounds > Tournaments > Add New Tournament.

  2. Set up the par 3 tournament first. Select "Stroke", the competition, "Own Ball selected by Par", enter how many balls are to be counted on the par 3 (leave the other pars at 0), and "Drop worst 1 Hole". Below is the example setup for a player v. field tournament.

The tournament can also be something other than "player v field" (e.g., foursome v. field, pair v. field, etc).

  3. Save the tournament.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to create the Par 4 tournament. (Similar setup, but enter the number of balls to be counted on the Par 4s and leave the other pars at 0.)

  5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to create the Par 5 tournament. (Similar setup, but enter the number of balls to be counted on the Par 5s and leave the other pars at 0.)

  6. Go to Rounds > Tournaments > Add Linked Tournament.

  7. Name the tournament "Overall" and select the three tournaments that were created in the previous steps (as shown below).

  8. Save the Linked Tournament.
