How can I set up a Ringer tournament with gross or net bias?

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is available for the following products:

Q: I am trying to set up a Ringer tournament using gross and net scores. However, the players can only receive points/purse for gross or net, not both. When setting up the tournament format, there is no "Gross / Net" option in the Purse and Points dropdown. What can I do?

A: You can set up this tournament format by creating linked tournaments. Below are instructions to set up a multi-round linked tournament.

Multi-Round Tournament Instructions:

  1. Go to Event/League > Multi-Round Tournaments > Add New Multi-Round Tournament. Set up the gross Ringer tournament (as shown below). Enter the points and purse as well.

  2. Go to Event/League > Multi-Round Tournaments > Add New Multi-Round Tournament. Create the net Ringer tournament with points/purse as well. The same setup as above, except the Handicap, should be net. Save the tournament.

  3. Go to Event/League > Multi-Round Tournaments > Add Linked Tournament. Name the "Overall" tournament and select the net and gross multi-round tournaments to be included (as shown below).

  4. Go to the Advanced Settings tab in the linked tournament and select "Keep Best Results of Selected Tournaments." Select the tournament that should receive the bias. For instance, if a player comes in 1st in both gross and net, they will only be awarded for the gross tournament. Save the linked tournament.

  5. The leaderboard will display the Net Ringer tournament and the Gross Ringer tournament. Players will only be awarded one of the two tournaments (as shown below).
