It’s very easy to add an Impound or a job that will require storage fees in Towbook.

Please follow the steps below – remember that any type of call can be created in Dispatching.

Adding a “Current Impound”

If you need to add a Current Impound or a job that’s being done “now”, follow these steps.

  1. From "Dispatching", click on "New Call" in the top left corner. This will open the new call screen on the right side of the page.

  1. Select the Account that you’re doing the work for. All of your calls should be assigned to an account, even if it’s a cash or private customer.

  2. Enter the Pickup or Service location (this is a required field). This will be pre-populated if the account is private property.

  3. Change the destination from "Address" to "Impound" and select the Impound destination lot from the drop-down list.

  1. Add all data you have to the call, including vehicle information and pricing.

  2. Click on "Create Call" at the bottom of the page.

Important: The impound date and time, which start your storage fees, will be set automatically to the date and time that the call is completed. If you need to change that, be sure to set them to the correct date and time on the call. The Impound Date and Time can be found above the vehicle information on the call.

Adding a Completed Impound

If you need to add a Completed Impound to the system, for a job that was already finished, you can follow the same steps from above except you need to select “Completed Call” at the top of the page. When you select Completed Call, this will open the fields for all the status times so you can add each status time on the call.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
