Services & Pricing

When setting up pricing in Towbook, the first step is setting up your list of services. These services might include things like; road service (Lock-out, Jump Start, Tire Service, Etc), towing services (Towing, Winching, Private Property Towing, Etc.), and any other “service” you provide. A simple way to look at it is you’re building a list of things you do.

Towbook has a few common service items already set up in your system, it’s very easy to delete any you don’t need or to add new ones. When setting up your price list, it’s important to remember that your list of service items should be as simple (short) as possible.

After you build your list of services, you can quickly set any account-specific prices.

To set up your list of services, please follow these steps.

  1. Go to "Settings".

  2. Select "Pricing".

  3. To add a new service item, select “Add a new Service Rate”.

  4. Enter the name of the service item – keep in mind this is what will appear on your receipts.

  5. Add the “standard rate” you charge for this service, usually, that’s the cash customer price for the service.

  6. You can enter the rate for different weight classes if you do that type of work. If you don’t do work in other weight classes, you don’t need to remove it – it’s just fine having your standard rate there.

  7. Be sure to select "Save" at the bottom of the page.

Repeat the steps above until you’ve built your list of services.

If you have customer accounts that pay you a different rate for a service, select the “Choose Accounts” button, then select any account that pays you a different rate than your standard (cash customer) rate. Click on the "Select" button at the bottom of the page – then enter the specific price for each account for the service item you are working on.

Select "Choose Accounts".

Select an account (or multiple).

Set pricing the same way you did for your standard rate for each account.

Thank you,
Towbook Support Team.
