Facebook Pixel Setup in Trackify X

This guide walks you through the new Trackify X onboarding flow to set up your Facebook Master Pixel correctly on Shopify.

Step 1: Connect Facebook Account in Trackify X

  1. Open Trackify X in your Shopify admin.

  2. On the Connect your account screen, click Login under Facebook.

  3. Log in to your Facebook account and grant the required permissions.

👉 Alternatively, you can choose Manual Setup if you prefer not to log in via Facebook.


Step 2: Add Your Master Pixel

You can set up the Master Pixel in two ways:


Option A: Manual Pixel Setup

  1. Enter a Pixel Name (for internal reference).

  2. Add your Facebook Pixel ID (numbers only).

  3. Select Pixel TypeMaster Pixel.

  4. Enable Server-side API (recommended for better event accuracy).

  5. Paste your Access Token.

    • Click the ⓘ info icon for step-by-step guidance on generating the token in Facebook Events Manager.

  6. Click Next.


Option B: Facebook Login Setup (Recommended)

  1. Select your Ad Account from the dropdown.

  2. Choose the Pixel ID linked to that ad account.

    • Only pixels assigned to the selected ad account will appear.

  3. Enable Server-side API.

  4. Click Next.


Step 3: Edit Feed Settings & Create a Catalog (Optional)

⚠️ This step is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want Trackify X to create a Facebook catalog.

If you continue:

  1. Select your Business Manager Account.

  2. Choose the Pixel to be used as the catalog’s event source.

  3. Select a Google Product Category (used for all products).

  4. Optional settings:

    • ✅ Include all variants

    • ✅ Include quantity to sell

  5. Choose the image option:

    • Product image

    • Variant image

    • Alternative image

  6. Enter a Catalog Name.

  7. Click Next.


Step 4: Add Backup Script via Shopify Customer Events

This step installs a backup Web Pixel script to ensure purchase tracking works correctly.

  1. Click Copy to copy the script.

  2. Click Go to Settings > Customer events.

  3. In Shopify:

    • Go to Settings → Customer events

    • Click More actions → Custom pixels

    • Click Add custom pixel

  4. Paste the copied script.

  5. Click Save, then Connect to grant checkout access.

  6. Return to Trackify X and click Next.


Step 5: Enable Trackify X App Embed (Required)

  1. Click Go to Theme Settings.

  2. In the Theme Editor:

    • Open App embeds

    • Enable Trackify X – Facebook Pixel

  3. Click Save (top right).

  4. Go back to Trackify X and click Next.


Step 6: Remove Any Duplicate Pixels

To avoid duplicate or inflated events:

  • Remove:

    • Facebook Pixel code in theme.liquid

    • Additional scripts in Checkout / Order status

    • Pixel from Facebook and Instagram sales channel Article

    • Other pixel apps

Trackify X should be the only active Facebook tracking solution.
