I just uploaded some trades into TradeZella and noticed some trades were left as OPEN. No worries!

If these are option trades that expired worthless (meaning they had a price of 0.00 on the expiration date), you can easily close them manually or enable an auto-close feature. Let’s dive in!

How to Manually Close Expired Option Trades

  • Navigate to the Trade Log page.

  • Locate the trade that expired worthless and click on it to proceed to the trade tracking page.

  • Go to the Executions tab on the TradeZella dashboard.

  • Click on the "View All" button to access your list of trades.

  • Click the purple CLOSE TRADE button. This action will automatically mark the trade as expired and add a closing execution with a price of 0.00.

How to Enable Auto-Close Feature

If you’d prefer not to manually close trades every time, you can enable the auto-close feature. This will automatically close expired options trades for you.

For detailed instructions on enabling auto-close, check out this guide.

Enabling the auto-close feature or manually closing trades ensures that your stats remain accurate and up-to-date, making expired option trades show up as closed.
