I just uploaded some trades into TradeZella and noticed some trades were left as OPEN. No worries!
If these are option trades that expired worthless (meaning they had a price of 0.00 on the expiration date), you can easily close them manually or enable an auto-close feature. Let’s dive in!
How to Manually Close Expired Option Trades
Navigate to the Trade Log page.
Locate the trade that expired worthless and click on it to proceed to the trade tracking page.
Go to the Executions tab on the TradeZella dashboard.
Click on the "View All" button to access your list of trades.
Click the purple CLOSE TRADE button. This action will automatically mark the trade as expired and add a closing execution with a price of 0.00.
How to Enable Auto-Close Feature
If you’d prefer not to manually close trades every time, you can enable the auto-close feature. This will automatically close expired options trades for you.
For detailed instructions on enabling auto-close, check out this guide.
