If your company has different entities or locations, it might be useful to either separate your data or mark your orders with the different entities.
Separating based on division
If you separate by using the division, then all your settings and masterdata will be separated. This can be useful if your different entities are working in different countries and use different data, however, this also has the negative side that all settings and masterdata need to be created per division.
Using Company code and organizations
Company code and organizations are masterdata tables that help you mark certain orders with the different entities inside your company. If you cannot find the tables, you need to add them to your masterdata role.
Once created, these values can now be added on orders and used in the settings tables. The company code has the added value that it can be linked to cost objects allowing you to make sure your orders are billed to the correct entity
