When booking an activity through the dashboard BOOK NOW (i.e back-office booking process from within the Triparound platform), the Checkout step can be bypassed or partially completed.
However, since the email address is the unique identifier when a customer records is created on the Triparound platform, it is strongly recommended to always insert the email of the customer during the back-office booking process.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE CUSTOMER INFO SECTION ON THE CHECKOUT STEP:
If the Customer Info section on the Checkout step is bypassed (and therefore left blank), the system will automatically take the user's information in order to complete the booking and therefore the booking will be allocated to the user's "Customer" record.
In such cases it is regarded as good practice for the user to go back to the "Booking" at a more convenient time and input the correct customer details. The Customer's information can be edited by visiting the specific booking on the Bookings section.
When inserting the customer details on the Customer Info section on the Checkout step of the back-office booking process:
If the customer email is not found in the Triparound platform this will result in a new "Customer" record being created.
If the customer email is already being used in an existing "Customer", then the booking will be connected to that specific "Customer" record.
Therefore, and further to the above, if the Customer Info section on the Checkout step is bypassed (and therefore left blank), or partially completed only with the customer's name and surname but the email address is left blank then:
the customer cannot receive any email or SMS notifications or future status updates regarding the booking.
if the email address is left blank and only the customer's name and surname is completed, the booking will have the customer's name and surname but it will still be allocated to the user's "Customer" record (meaning that a new customer will not be created).
bookings will not be associated to the specific customer/guest and therefore will not be shown on the Guest App (applicable if this functionality is used). More information about the Guest App can be found on the following link How to create the Guest App.
