Verify your domain to improve open rates and keep emails out of the spam folder.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Verifying your business domain when sending email review requests through your own email address offers several key benefits:

Improved Email Deliverability

Ensure your emails reach your customers’ inboxes more reliably by improving deliverability rates.

Brand Consistency and Professionalism

Maintain a consistent and professional brand image with every email you send.

Builds Customer Trust

Enhance customer confidence by using a personalized and familiar email address you already use to communicate with them.

Increased Open and Response Rates

Boost engagement with higher open and response rates by sending emails from a recognizable domain.

Receive Direct Email Responses

Allow customers to easily reply directly to your emails, fostering better communication.

By default, email review requests are sent from TrueReview's domain (no-reply@truereview.co). However, you can send them from your own email address by verifying your domain within TrueReview.

Custom Email Sender and Domain Verification is available in the updated Small Business and Premium plans.

Start Domain Verification

Head over to your Account Settings, and scroll down to the Domains section.

Click the ADD DOMAIN button to get started.

Enter the email that you'd like to use to send email review requests through TrueReview.

For example, if you want the customer to receive the email request from "hello@toplevelproperties.co" enter it into the input field and click "Add and verify..."

(You can customize the "From" name from your Account Settings)

Important: You must have access to your domain's DNS settings in order to configure a custom domain.

You cannot send email requests using a Gmail, Yahoo, or any third party email providers.

Copy the CNAME and TXT records and add them to your domain's DNS records.

Save your DNS settings for your domain, and click Continue in TrueReview.

If the DNS records are correctly added, you will see a "Domain Verified" message.

If DNS records are not found, you will see a "Verification Failed" message.

Important: DNS verification may take up to 24 hours. If everything is set up correctly, please allow time for your domain provider to process the changes.

You can come back after a while and click the Retry button.

You can close the dialog when waiting. To finish verification, you can click the "Finish verification" link from the dropdown.

Once the domain has been verified, it will show as Verified in your domain list.

Your domain provider may have specific guidelines for adding the HOST information.

Providers like Namecheap and GoDaddy often append the domain name automatically to the HOST. When entering the CNAME Host details, be sure to remove “.example.com” from the end.

Configure Custom Email Sender

With your custom domain verified, you can now select it when sending email review requests.

From your Business Settings, under Email Preferences, click on the dropdown for Sender Email and select the verified domain.
