Setting Up SCIM Provisioning for TrunkText

How to automate user and group provisioning between TrunkText and your Identity Provider

Overview

SCIM provisioning requires an existing SAML application for TrunkText with your Identity Provider.

Who Can Do This

  • ✅ Business Admin — can configure the SCIM provisioning connection.

Requirements

Start Provisioning Setup in TrunkText

  • Go to trunktext.com and sign in

  • Click your profile name in the bottom-left corner

  • Select SSO/SCIM Management

  • Click Provisioning → Add Connection

  • Enter a name for your SCIM connection and select your Identity Provider

From here, TrunkText's in-app guide will walk you through the rest of the configuration step by step, including enabling automatic provisioning, connecting your IdP to TrunkText, and provisioning users and groups.

Optional: Passing Additional Attributes

TrunkText also supports syncing Job Title via SCIM, in addition to the required attributes (first name, last name, email, phone number).

Example (Microsoft Entra ID):

Entra attribute

SCIM claim

jobTitle

title

This is one of Entra's default attribute mappings, so it's typically already active — confirm under Enterprise App → Provisioning → Attribute Mapping that it hasn't been remapped or disabled.

If you're on a different Identity Provider, check your provisioning app's default attribute mapping screen for the equivalent job title field.

FAQs

Will TrunkText roles sync automatically?

No — groups sync automatically, but roles must be assigned manually to each provisioned group directly within TrunkText.com

Can we sync additional attributes beyond the required ones?

Job Title is currently the only additional attribute TrunkText supports beyond the required set. Reach out to your Technical Account Manager if you have a need for others.

Who should I contact if the integration isn't working?

Reach out to your Technical Account Manager or contact Support at support@trunk.tools
