So you can easily send out ELs to your clients in bulk

How to get started using Engagement Letter (EL) templates in Truss.

Why

Automate hours worth of EL prep by using Truss to send ELs in bulk with a matter of a couple clicks.

Step 1: Go to Engagement Letter Template page in Truss

Step 2: Click "New Template" Button

Step 3: Name the template

Note: Default 1040 Template


If this is the main 1040 template, select the checkbox for:

Step 4: Copy/paste the text from your own EL, and format

  • Do not include letter head, logos, or signature lines

Merge Tags: fill in client data


[first_name]

[last_name]

[all_first_names]

  • i.e. "Travis and Taylor"

[all_full_names]

  • i.e. "Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift"

[entity]

  • only works when an entity is linked to the project


[link: Custom Text]

  • will insert a button into the email with the text of your choosing

[update_summary]

  • will insert a bullet point list of all new tasks, comments, and files shared with client that the client has not seen yet. We have a timestamp of the client's last page visit and we include everything that has been added since then.

Sometimes you want the client to specifically agree to a particular point. This is not designed to be a full questionnaire but to allow you to include a handful of specific points of agreement/consent.

This may also be used in a 7216 consent to allow a client to opt out, but still sign the agreement.

Step 5: Click Save
