Our badge system lets you give give hosts an insight into your credibility and set you apart in the Marketplace. ✨

What are badges? 🔎

Turno has 4 marketplace badges: Bonding, Liability Insurance, Background Check, and License. You can apply for these badges to show them on your Turno profile. There is also a special "Super Cleaner" tag that can be awarded to top performers in each area. This prestigious distinction is a great way to stand out from the competition!

Once you are approved in the Marketplace, you can get four of these badges. They help your bids get accepted by customers. These badges show that the Turno team has checked your documents.

Many customers prefer cleaners with badges because it makes them feel more confident in the cleaner's professionalism.

Please note that cleaners in the US must pass a Background Check to activate their Marketplace profile. The Background Check badge is mandatory for cleaners in all US states, unlike the other badges which are optional. ⚠️

How can I apply for a badge? 🔎

To get a marketplace badge, go to your Marketplace Profile page and click "Get this badge" under the one you want. On the next page, you will see a place to add a card to pay for the badge application.

For all badges except the Background Check, you'll see a section to upload the respective files. Once you've entered all the required information, click "Pay for this Badge" to save and pay.

To apply for the Bonding, Liability Insurance, or License badges, ensure you have the required and complete documents in digital format (PDF file or individual images of all pages). If you don't have a digital version, it's okay to take pictures or scan the document. Once you send us your signed document in full, our team will verify it and grant you the badge upon confirming its authenticity. 📑

Bonding Badge 💡

Being bonded protects you and your customers. Imagine a safety net for both of you. If something unexpected happens during a cleaning job, a bonding company has money set aside to cover the customer's losses. This gives your customers peace of mind, and shows you're a responsible cleaner.

To obtain this badge, the first step is to contact your insurance carrier and acquire the respective surety bond document. Note that only documents with an active bonding policy will be eligible for approval. Make sure your surety bond is current before proceeding with the badge application.

Valid bonding documents ✅

  • Surety bonds

  • Liability insurance documents that include a bonding policy

Bonding documents we do not accept ❌

  • Bonding proposals - These documents are not valid because they are only a bonding request or quote.

  • Liability insurance documents that don't include a bonding policy - these documents do not always include bonding. However, if you have contracted both services with the same company, it's possible to include them in the same contract.

Liability Insurance Badge 💡

Imagine insurance like an umbrella – it protects you from getting soaked by unexpected costs. If you accidentally break something or someone gets hurt while you're cleaning, liability insurance can help cover the cost. This gives you and your clients peace of mind, knowing you're both protected.

To acquire this badge, the initial step is to contact your insurance carrier and obtain the respective documentation for liability insurance. Only documents with an active liability insurance policy will be considered for approval. Make sure your liability insurance is up to date before you apply for this badge.

Valid liability insurance documents ✅

  • Liability Insurance documents that include general liabilities or Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability.

Liability insurance documents we do not accept ❌

  • Simulation or request documents - in these cases, our team will reject the document and ask for your actual insurance certificate.

Business License Badge 💡

A business license is a legal document issued by federal, state, or local government agencies. It grants permission for a business to operate within a specific area. Essentially, it’s like the official “green light” for businesses to do their thing!

To obtain a badge for it, the first step is to contact your local government and acquire your business license document. Only business licenses will be accepted for the License badge. Make sure to secure a valid business license before applying for this badge.

Valid business license documents ✅

  • LLC articles of organization documents

  • Business/license tax receipts

  • Business ‘certificate of good standing’

License documents we do not accept ❌

  • Employer Identification Number (EIN) documents

  • Doing Business As (DBA) or Fictitious Names documents

  • Driver’s license

Background Check Badge 💡

Background checks help Turno keep the marketplace safe. We look into a cleaner's past to make sure you're a good fit for cleaning hosts' homes. This means checking for things like criminal records that might raise concerns. It's all about keeping everyone feeling safe and secure.

To be granted a background check badge, you will have to fill out the information required in the email you'll receive from Accurate Background after you apply for the badge, and pass with a clean background. See more about the background check badge here: Background Check FAQ

What gets a background check approved ✅

Factors such as a clean criminal record, accurate information, positive employment and education history, good credit record, and favorable references increase approval chances.

What causes a background check to be rejected ❌

Background checks run by Accurate will verify records from the past 7 to 10 years, depending on the state. Crimes involving drugs, guns, violence, trespassing, and theft will cause you to be rejected.

Super Cleaner Tag 💡

Super Cleaners are experienced cleaners who provide extraordinary service for their hosts. This tag is only awarded to the top 5% of cleaners on our system. We check Super Cleaners’ activity regularly to ensure that the program highlights people who are most dedicated to providing an outstanding service.

The Super Cleaner tag is awarded based on a cleaner's performance relative to others in their area, reflecting their dedication to excellence and customer satisfaction.

To be awarded this tag, you must consistently deliver quality service, meet customer expectations, and excel in your work. It is a mark of trustworthiness and sets you apart from competitors, building client confidence and encouraging improvement.

Another thing that is also affected by keeping a good performance is your access level. Check the following article to learn more:
