Can I trade during the weekend?

Updated over 2 months ago

Tycoon Funded allows trading over the weekend, but there are some important details to keep in mind regarding execution and holding trades during this time.

Executing Trades Over the Weekend:

  • Crypto Pairs: Weekend trading is permitted for cryptocurrency pairs. You can execute trades and manage positions on these instruments.

  • Forex, Metals, and Indices: Trading on these instruments is allowed over the weekend; however, be aware that many of these markets are closed or have limited liquidity during this time. This can lead to price gaps when the market opens, which could impact your positions.

Considerations:

  • Platform Maintenance: Our platforms may perform scheduled maintenance every Saturday between 5:00 AM and 9:00 AM EST. During this time, trading may be unavailable, so plan your trades accordingly.

  • Market Gaps: Since most Forex, Metals, and Indices markets do not trade over the weekend, there is a risk of price gaps when the market reopens. These gaps can lead to larger-than-expected price movements, and traders should factor this risk into their strategy.

  • Risk Management: As a trader, you are responsible for understanding and managing the risks of holding trades over the weekend. If a gap occurs and causes a violation, it is considered your responsibility to manage that risk.

Drawdown and Technical Considerations:

  • The maximum daily drawdown resets every day at 5:00 PM EST. We recommend avoiding trade executions from 4:57 PM to 5:03 PM EST to avoid any technical issues with the reset. Make sure that your balance or equity remains above the breach level to avoid margin calls or stop-outs.
