How do I change my language preferences?

Learn how to turn our subtitles on, change your video player language, and change your app language preferences.

To turn Closed Captions on and off

Typsy offers Closed Captions (subtitles) on all courses and lessons in more than 30 languages including Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Lithuanian, Malay, Maori, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, and Vietnamese.

You can turn closed captions on and off on both Desktop and our mobile app.

1. Locate the CC icon at the bottom right of the content player.

2. Click on the icon and select the language of the captions you would like to see.

3. To turn captions off, select the Off option.

To change the language preferences for videos on the website:

1. Click on Profile via your name in the top navigation bar.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select your preferred language from the Video language dropdown menu.

Changing the language for in-platform navigation

The Typsy mobile app

The Typsy mobile app supports navigation translations in Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Lithuanian, Malay, Maori, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, and Vietnamese.

To change the language preferences for your account on mobile:

1. Click on Account in the bottom navigation bar.

2. Select App settings.

3. Select Change language.

4. Select the language you would like to change your account to.

The Typsy site (typsy.com)

The Typsy website has restricted translation services. Translations will appear on our course and lesson pages, including the quiz.

The Typsy website supports translations in Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Lithuanian, Malay, Maori, Mongolian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, and Vietnamese.

To change the language preferences for your account on the website:

1. Click on Profile via your name in the top navigation bar.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select your preferred language from the Display language dropdown menu.

4. Click Save.

5. Log out and log back into Typsy for your changes to update.

If you would like the Typsy website navigation to also appear in your preferred language, we recommend using your browser's translation service:


Typsy tip:

Changing your language preference will not change your account’s country or currency settings.
